Old Wardour Castle

Old Wardour CastleOld Wardour Castle is just a short drive from the town of Shaftesbury. The castle is in ruins, which came about during the civil war and is worth a visit, especially if you’re in the area.

There’s a small admission charge to look around. If you like walking you can also go for a walk around the back of the castle, along the edge of the forest (great for dogs). Where great views of the castle and the nearby lake can be seen. If you’re planning on walking and it’s been raining, we advise to take wellies, as it can get very muddy.
