Abbotsbury Swannery is a very well known Dorset tourist attraction, offering something for all tastes, a must see if you're visiting the area.

6. Wareham
A pretty town, situated between two rivers, Wareham has a rich history. It was an important Anglo-Saxon town and Port, the Saxon church of St. Martin, built c.1030. has survived intact.

Wareham Town Museum details the history of the town and surrounding area.

Sherborne Old Castle was built in the 12th Century by Roger de Caen a Bishop of Salisbury.

On Dorsets northern border lies the town of Sherborne. Situated on the banks of the river Yeo. The town is famous for it’s abbey dating back to Saxon times and it’s two castles.

Sherborne Castle is a magnificent Tudor mansion from the 16th century.
