Knowing God

People teach evolution as truth, because they've never met God.

But this doesn't mean God doesn't exist, it only means they have never met Him and therefore assume He doesn't exist.

God tells us why people have never met Him:

(Isaiah 59:2)
"But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear."

The sin people carry around with them, puts a block on them from meeting God. Sin keeps people from knowing God

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." [Romans 3:23]

From the moment we sinned for the very first time, we were separted from God, for ever.

So consider this: When a child tells their very first lie or sins in some other way, they are instantly separated from God and will remain separated from Him forever.

The child grows up into an adult, not believing in God, because they have been separated from Him throughout their entire life (because of their first sin). And therefore conclude (along with everyone else) that there is no God.

What is the outcome of this separation?

"Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement." [Hebrews 9:27]

"Those who do not know God... will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord." [2 Thessalonians 1:8-9]

Overcoming the separation...

If a person can consider that there might be a God, and the reason they don't know Him, is because of separation, then they are tinkering on the edge of meeting Him! And just need to take a step of faith to actually meet Him.

"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ." [1 Timothy 2:5]

"For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God." [1 Peter 3:18]

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." [Romans 5:8]

Jesus is the way to meeting God

It is through Jesus that the separation is removed

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." [John 14:6]

"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." [John 1:12]

"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." [Romans 10:9]

"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." [Revelation 3:20]

By putting our faith (100%) in Jesus, we will meet God

Jesus bridges the gap and brings people into His presence

Jesus said, "You may ask Me for anything in my name, and I will do it." [John 14:14]

We ask Jesus to remove the separation, by prayer...

If we seek Jesus (make a special effort), humble ourselves and pray to Him with a sincere heart, then He promises to reveal Himself to us! and come into our lives!

The following prayer may help you know what to say..

Dear Jesus,
I have sinned against you, I have sinned against God, I am sorry, please forgive me (confess anything in particular you need forgiveness of). I now turn from all sin. Please come into my life and restore this broken relationship. I no longer wish to be seperated from God, but would like to know His presence and love for me. Thank you jesus, Amen.

Allowing Jesus into our lives, means we can meet GodIf you sincerely prayed this prayer or similar from your Heart, then the separation has been permanently removed.

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." [Romans 10:13]

"God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." [1 John 5:11-12]

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith.... and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God... not by works, so that no one can boast." [Ephesians 2:8-9]

When we ask Jesus into our life AND we believe in Him AND intend to turn from sin, we are born into God's family. We are born again (spiritually).
