Weymouth A seaside resort containing a wide expanse of golden sand. Frequented by royalty in the late 1700’s, a statue of King George III was erected in remembrance. Elegant Georgian houses flank the seafront, giving the town it’s own charm and character. Weymouth boasts a harbour and marina and is also home to the Sealife Park and the Radipole Lake bird reserve. A few minutes drive from the town will bring you to Brewers Quay and Nothe Fort which dates back to the mid 1800’s.
Portland
Remote from the mainland is a craggy peninsular linked to Weymouth by Chesil beach. At its’ highest point wonderful views are afforded. The peninsular is made up of a group of villages and a naval base. At Portland Bill the lighthouse can be found guarding against the cliffs below.
Bennetts Water Gardens is a visitor attraction set over 8 acres. The gardens hold National and International Collections of Water Lilies and include a Monet style Japanese Bridge, Tropical House, Woodland Walks and Museum.
